Neer More – Spicy Buttermilk

Buttermilk is a healthy yoghurt based drink normally taken after meals, it helps to soothe and cool down and also helps a great deal in food digestion.

This recipe is made with yoghurt blended with water, salt, spices, chili & curry leaves.

Yoghurt – ½ cup

Water – 2 cups

Curry leaves – 5-6

Ginger – ½ teaspoon (chopped)

Green chili – 1 (chopped)

Salt per taste

Asafetida – 1 small pinch

Roasted cumin seeds powder – ½ teaspoon

Coriander leaves – 1 tablespoon


  • Grind curry leaves, chili, ginger, cumin seeds, salt, asafetida, roasted cumin powder, coriander leaves first with a tablespoon of yoghurt, once this grinds and blends well, then add full yoghurt and water. Blend well again for a minute.
  • Strain and serve.

Note: Enjoy a glass of cold spicy buttermilk after a sumptuous meal, Yummy!
