This easy to do at home cheese sauce is one of the best to serve on the side or topped with grilled veggies or baked with veggies or with roasted veggies. It can be used with meats too. Try this!

Step-by-Step Easy & Quick Recipe –

Ingredients:

Milk or cream – ½ cup

Cheddar cheese – 1 cup (shredded or grated)

Flour – 1 tablespoon

Butter – 1 tablespoon

Mustard – ½ teaspoon (ground)

Salt to taste

Ground black pepper

Nutmeg – a pinch

Instructions:

  • In a saucepan melt butter and add flour & cook for 2 minutes, Stir constantly. Now stir in mustard & nutmeg. Mix well.
  • Gently & slowly add milk or cream and cook, stirring constantly till it thickens.
  • Add cheese and keep stirring till the cheese melts completely and the sauce becomes thick & bubbly. Season with salt & pepper. If the sauce is too thick, you can add milk little by little till you reach the desired consistency.

Note: A rich and creamy delicious sauce is ready; serve with veggies like carrots, broccoli, cauliflower etc. Works well with grilled veggies or roasted veggies or baked with veggies too. Enjoy!
