Mushroom is a hot favorite with many people. It is cooked for main course, salad, side dishes, appetizers, soups etc. either ways they taste yummy. Mushrooms are low calorie food better known as the the “meat of the vegetarian world”.
Today we are going to try one of eastern European dishes; it can be served as a main course dish or as a side dish. It is super easy to do and super quick to make, all you need to do is just cook the onions and mushrooms in butter & sour cream, season with salt & pepper & dill, your creamy mushrooms are ready. Mushrooms – 450 grams (whole, stems taken out or sliced)
Onion – small 1 (chopped)
Dill – 1 tablespoon (or dried dill 2 tablespoons) or fresh Cilantro
Sour cream – 1-½ cups
Fresh cream – 2 tablespoons
Butter – 2 tablespoons
Salt per taste
Ground black pepper
- In a non-stick pan add butter, let it melt & then add chopped onions, sauté till they become translucent for about 5 minutes, after that add the mushrooms. Cook on high heat for another 3-4 minutes. Mushrooms will release water.
- After mushrooms soak all the wager & butter add the sour cream, fresh cream along with dill. Season with salt & ground black pepper. Bring it to a boil and the lower the heat and simmer for another 2-3 minutes till mushrooms are well done and nicely coated & absorb the flavor of with butter & sour cream. Transfer to serving dish.
