It is very quick & easy to make and highly delicious to eat. Generally people use boiled or simply lightly sautéed peas but when they are combined with cream, well the result is amazing.
To cook this dish, you just need to boil the peas, sauté mushroom & onions and then make them creamy with lots of cream, season with salt, pepper & nutmeg & voila the delicious creamy peas-mushrooms are ready. Try them and you will love them surely.

Frozen Peas – 2 cups (frozen)
Mushroom – 1 cup (sliced)
Onion – 1 small (chopped)
Cilantro – 2 tablespoons (finely chopped)
All purpose flour – 1 tablespoon
Butter – 2 tablespoons
Cream – 1 cup
Salt per taste
Ground black pepper
Ground nutmeg – 1 pinch (optional)
Olive oil (to sauté mushroom)
- Boil frozen peas in a saucepan with salt till soft & tender. Take off heat, strain them and keep aside.
- In a large pan sauté mushrooms with salt till all water is absorbed and they are well done. Keep aside.
- Now in the same pan add butter and onion and sauté till they become translucent, now add sautéed mushrooms and also add the all purpose flour, stir well continuously and cook for 1-2 minute.
- Now slowly add the cream & season with salt, pepper & nutmeg. Stir & cook till it becomes thick & smooth. Now add boiled peas & chopped cilantro, take off heat and mix well. Let it stand for 2-3 minutes before serving.
Note: Delicious creamy peas mushroom is ready, can be served as a side dish with mashed potatoes, your choice of bread, chicken etc. Enjoy!
