The year was coming to an end and mostly every one around is in a party mood but I was still drowning under the weight of work all the time, writing blog posts, doing interview rounds, back to back meetings, almost working like a robot.
My team suggested that I really needed a break & when I was not prepared to consider it right away, they suggested me to do a restaurant review which was a sure shot to draw me out. The next thing was, that we were discussing which restaurant to review & suddenly I heard the name Puma Social Club in the list of restaurants and the very first thought that came to my mind on hearing Puma Social Club was that it must be some place to do with sports or workouts or maybe some kind of social club but I could never imagine in my wildest dreams that it be a perfect place for exquisite & casual fine dining.
Well! you heard it right. Puma Social Club (PSC) is a fine dine roof top restaurant located at Indira Nagar in Bangalore and is the only Puma Social Club from Brand Puma in India. Surprised to hear about it, well don’t be, just hop in and you will love this place to go back there over & over again.
Puma Social Club is a great comfy family restaurant but it offers a virtual office too, they provide nice noise free atmosphere without any office space charges on second floor where you can have your office meetings or sit and do your office work enjoying free wi-fi. On top of it, while working when you take a break in between you can play foose ball too. They enjoy a niche clientele.
Team Appy Bistro visited the place and had one of the most chilled out evenings @ PSC. The moment we stepped in we were sure that it was the perfect place to enjoy an evening. I was really pleased to know that it was completely eco-friendly building with a beautiful vertical garden which is highly appealing to eyes. The ambience is contemporary but really nice and the whole atmosphere is highly comfortable with good choice of music running in the background, the tables have adequate distance from each other so the diners are not isolated yet they can still maintain their privacy. The service is really great and quite fast and the staff is very friendly & welcoming.
We took a table at their Mezzanine level but if you like to sit by the bar or around it and enjoy your evening with drinks & food on an open rooftop restaurant watching the bartender do his gimmicks while pouring drinks, then you can book a table at the Terrace level. This level has more seating capacity and a beautiful terrace garden too.
Let’s talk about the food now. Puma Social Club offers a large variety of fusion food with an edge over Continental & American cuisine, right from salads, soups, appetizers, burgers, sandwiches & mains. We tried some of their signature dishes like Chicken Malacca, Paneer Steak, Risotto Ornament and loved their pumpkin pie for dessert. Look out for their other signature dishes too like pork ribs, tenderloin with mashed potato & burgerOnemo. The taste & food presentation was really nice which can whip up your appetite immediately. They have good combination of vegetarian & non-vegetarian dishes and that too very reasonably priced; the food was neither too bland nor too spicy so it can make all taste buds happy. The other thing I was really happy to see was that their serving portions are quite big & fulfilling. If you wish to enjoy the gourmet dishes by their Chef Ashley d’Souza, all you need to do is, just visit PSC and sit back, relax & order food & drinks.
While enjoying my food, the next big question in my mind was, how is Puma Social Club different than other restaurants apart from the ambience & food. I think I can sum up that for you:
- Offers Diva’s Night every Wednesday and ladies can enjoy their time till 11.00 pm with a variety of drinks.
- Offers Retro every Thursday.
- Offers clubbing nights every Friday.
- Saturdays are Social nights.
- Offers virtual office space.
- Live sports screening during football season.
- Offers corporate parties & private parties for up to 30 persons at the mezzanine level.
- Offers Valet parking.
- Pet Friendly
We can say in general Puma Social Club is a place every worth visiting. Either just to relax n enjoy a rooftop restaurant & bar with your family & friends or party hard, this place will make you feel special & happy.
Pluses and minuses: The good thing about Puma Social Club is that they are completely eco-friendly, have a great rooftop restaurant, offer fusion cooking & are absolutely pocket friendly. However, a few minor glitches need to be fixed.
One being that their main entrance & lobby needs to be designed & marked in a better way to show their presence right from start and for letting the guests feel the spirit of PSC instantly after stepping inside which is missing till you reach the terrace & Mezzanine levels.
