As we stepped into the new year all the travel gurus and travel experts have started their prediction of the best holiday destinations. Holidays are a must for every one to rejuvenate. Getting away from our daily routines and having fun & relaxing time in a nice beautiful holiday destination is like a dream come true for each one of us.
We looked at many destinations worth visiting and chose first which is one of the most evergreen and insanely popular country known for tourism, Italy. It boasts of having the largest number of World Heritage Sites named by UNESCO. In totality, there are so many beautiful places that I cannot cover all together so best is that I keep sharing some of them from time to time.
The other thing which this country is well-known known for is their delicious food and their fashion industry. As these both are my most favorite subjects, so I just cannot stay away from them. I feel the whole world is crazy for Italian food & most commonly known dishes are pizza & pasta, but Italian cuisine has actually a lot more delicious dishes to offer than just these. There are many pasta varieties, then there is wide varieties of cheese, polenta, lasagna, salads, cannelloni, frittata & pesto to name just a few. During your trip there, you have to try to get the authentic taste of Italian cuisine and pamper your taste buds fully. Also don’t forget to enjoy the knock out Italian wines there.
Apart from their great food, Italy is one of the fashion hubs of the world with some of the top most modern luxury fashion brands like Armani, Gucci, Diesel, Bvlgari, Dolce & Gabbana etc. Italian fashion is not just clothes, its about sophistication. The Italian brands are highly popular amongst the rich and famous & is a part of Hollywood couture. While visiting you can pamper yourself by buying some of their best styles or even just go window shopping to an insight into the modern fashion world. Italy is known for their Denims & Leather products, being one of the best in the world.

Venice Italy (Venezia Italia) – Venice has long been a great tourist attraction and known for its priceless heritage, also known for its spectacular scenery and their signature waterways with charming Gondolas. The grand canal skirts through the entire city. Venice has a lot to offer the tourist, very commonly known & a must visits places there are Rialto Bridge, St. Mark’s Square, Ca’Rezzonico museum, Bridge of Sighs, Arsenal, Basilica Di Santa Maria Della Salute & Venice carnival. Also a must see is the Venice Carnival, simply spectacular.

San Marco which is the heart of Venice.

San Polo is the oldest part of this city, its small and very beautiful with foot prints of medieval times.
Santa Croce is again one of the oldest parts of Venice and is not a regular with many tourists but is home to the most expensive restaurant in Venice by the name La Zucca apart from many pizzerias.
Cannaregio is highly picturesque & a very quite place, it is the 2nd largest canal which connects the grand canal to the lagoon, its inhabited by a large number of locals & is home to the Jewish community in Venice. This place is flooded with wine bars, cafes & restaurants.
Castello is home to the Arsenal the shipyard and its great for walking along the lagoon.
Rome – visiting Italy, Rome is the absolute must, after all it’s the capital of Italy. It has a lot to offer any tourist, home to Colosseum, Vatican City, Piazza Novena, Roman forum, Pantheon, St. peters square & Trevi fountain which will keep the tourists captivated by their sheer beauty. It is known as a city of Fashion with many world-known brands present there and is equally known to be one of the best holiday destinations for a romantic get away or ideal for honeymoon place.
Pompeii – we are all charmed by Roman history & in case we get to see some structures of the roman era ourselves then its like actually living that age. To all those keenly interested in history and roman empire stories, this place which is located by the bay of Naples, will be quite enchanting & captivating. Placed under the Mount Vesuvius, the ruins of Pompeii give you a factual scenario of the life of roman era which was buried under the ashes of this volcano.
Amalfi Coast –one of the most beautiful coastline, which is also a UNESCO heritage site. Here the houses are built from high up in the mountain, reaching to the bottom of the mountain till the sea shores. One of the main town in this area is Positano.
Cinque Terre – meaning Five Villages, this is one of the most beautiful & picturesque Oceanside with lots of cliffs & hills. It has a string of villages with beautiful colorful houses. A perfect place with incredibly vineyards, hikers love this place as the towns on the hills are inter connected with narrow road and it’s a lovely walk.
Vatican City – the headquarters of Roman Catholic Church and also home of Pope and home to incredible art collections & Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s ceilings.
Lake Como – one of real beauty, Lake Como is an upscale area full of resorts, also a home to rich & famous. The deep blue lake flows on the foothills of Alps. Another big draw for tourists around the world is the mild Mediterranean weather here.
Leaning Tower of Pisa – one of the wonders of the world. The tower had started tilting as the ground beneath was not stable & had started sinking. Even after the restoration work was done, still its tilted and became famous as the leaning tower of Pisa.
La Maddalena – for the beach lovers, here is a great place to visit in Italy. It’s a town located on an island in the province of Olbia-Tempio, Italy. This island is connected by boats and thrives on tourism only & is primarily known for beautiful white sand beaches, main ones are Spalmatore & Bassa Trinita.
I can only say that after enjoying the lovely destinations, after tasting & enjoying the authentic & delicious Italian cuisine & with the charm of shopping from world famous fashion brands, you will like to get back there as and when possible again.
