Chia jam is a healthy, low-sugar alternative to regular jam and very easy to prepare! You can enjoy it without feeling guilty – It’s loaded with antioxidants, fiber, minerals, vitamins and omega-3 fats!
This recipe has no added sugar and the sweetness comes naturally from the berries! Chia seeds help to thicken the jam and set it without any additional ingredients!
Enjoy this jam on toast, granola parfaits, pancakes, waffles, bagels, yogurt, or with oatmeal!
- Frozen Raspberries – 1 Cup
- Frozen Blueberries – 1 Cup
- Chia Seeds – 2 Tablespoons
- Apple Juice OR Orange Juice – 1 Tablespoon
- Honey / Agave / Maple Syrup – 1-2 tablespoons or as per taste
In a medium bowl, add the berries and smash with a fork until more juices seep out, but some chunks remain.
Add the chia seeds and apple/orange juice and maple syrup, and stir to combine. Let sit for 30-45 minutes for the chia seeds to gel and thicken, stirring once halfway.
Store in an airtight container and refrigerate up to 1 week!
You can use strawberries, mangoes, peaches, and develop your own variations!
